He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Bahr and Helen Bahr (Miller); his brother Gary; his sister-in-law Carol; and his parents-in-law, Harris and Mary Gruber.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Gruber of Caledonia; his children, Christin Skolnik (Ari) and Nathan Bahr (Kate Gillen); his grandchildren, Charles, Ella, Sylvia and Elin Skolnik; and his sisters, Jeanne Pauly (Peter) of Bellvue, IA and Lori Stevenson (Carl) of Waukon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Church Building Fund.
