He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester C. Koel and Leonora Koel (Niebling); his wife Ann; and his siblings, Walton, Harold, Geraldine, Kenneth, Ivona, Marie and Lola May.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jane Koel-Schein (David Schein) and Joan Doering (Tim); his grandchildren, Matthew Koel, Rebekah Wolfe (Nick), Samuel Doering (Stephanie) and Riley Doering (Kelly); and his great grandchildren, Maxwell Doering (Sam) and Rowan Doering Roger (Riley).
Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's School, or Caledonia Fire Department.
