She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Ryder and Emily Ryder (Brown); her spouse Russell "Tubby" Besse; and her son Larry. She is survived by: her children, Beverly Wenisch (Lynn) of Henderson, Minn and Donald Besse (Dorrie) of Preston; and her daughter-in-law Mary Schutz Besse Esch of Caledonia. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
