He is survived by: his daughter Theresa Johnk; his grandchildren, Chloe and Hayden; his siblings, Leland Karels (Ruby), Kathy Copeland (Al), Mary Karels, Nathalie Weibel (Tom) and Julie Burroughs (Larry); his sister-in-law Sue Karels; and his close friend Charles Kingsbury. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
