He was predeceased by: his father Gordon Bauer; and his brother-in-law Danny. He is survived by: his mother Wanda Bauer (Haugstad) of Caledonia; his children, Adam and Aubrey of La Crosse; his siblings, Greg Bauer (Valerie Haught), Maria Keefe, Brian Bauer (Kim) and Gina; and his grandchildren, Jeff Sawle, Sara Ludgood (Tracey) and Kevin Bauer (Kerri). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.
