He was predeceased by: his parents, Helmer and Mabel; and his siblings, Dennis, Joyce, Marlis, Ronald, Arvid, Marvin, Jerel and Jerry.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Eva Melhouse. He is also survived by nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; 9 great-great-nieces and nephews.
