He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Sanders and Marjory Sanders (Ackland); and his sister Beverly Jean Voshell. He is survived by: his wife Chris; and his children, Jeffrey Sanders (Tess), Christine Sanders, Caroline Schweitzer (Rob), Wayne Sanders (Betty), John Sanders (Ane) and Lisa "George" Bryant (Steve). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
