It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Iona Mae (Walter) Markley (Buffalo, Minnesota), born in Dallas, Oregon, who passed away on January 28, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Walter and Esther Walter (Purath); her brother Ernest; and her brother-in-law Jim Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Carrie Cottrell (Darin) and Cathie Fink (Steve); her grandchildren, Ryan Cottrell (Lauryn), Allison McNeal and Caitlin Vickerman (Dustin); her great grandchildren, Wessen, Kynzlee and Maverick; and her siblings, June Smith, Marvin Walter (Sandra), Ray Walter (Reinette), Duane Walter, Barb Wichterman (Gordie), Marilyn Budraitis (Gene), Roger Walter (Janel) and David Walter (Gail). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Buffalo United Methodist Church in Iona's name.
