He was predeceased by: his parents, John Yanish and Myrtle Yanish (Becker); and his brother Maynard Yanish. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Friedland; his children, Dion (Jackie), Mark (Pam) and Tanya Yanish; and his sisters, Arlene LaClare (Charles), Jan Hommerding (Roy), Geri Mies (Jim), Audrey Hennen and Juliann Allen (Paul). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred.
