He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Knutson and Marvel Knutson (Stayner); his sisters, Arletta Bungum of Sargeant, Judy Bungum of Austin and Ruth Emro (George) of Owatnna; his son Bradley; and his siblings, Alice Peterson, Sharon Falconer, Knute Knutson, Donald Knutson, Theodore "Ted" Knutson Jr. and Gerald Knutson.

He is survived by: his wife Judy; his daughters, Kim Knutson Vandonselarr (Steve), Ryan Knutson of Spring Valley, Ann Anderson (Eric) of Bagley and Barbara Meyer of Rochester; his grandchildren, Teresa Mason, Vanessa Mason, Christopher Knutson (Megan Dahl), Katie Bernard (Brian), Nick Knutson (Kayla), Andre Hernandez, Braden Knutson (Gretchen Backus), Joshua Anderson, Jeremiah Anderson, Cody Knutson and Kendra Anderson (Caleb Waggoner); and his stepgrandchildren, Alexa (Nathan), Engstrom and Kurt Vandonselaar. He is also survived by many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
