He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophie Retka (Rasinski) and Leo Retka; his siblings, Joan Nelson, Sr., Evelyn and Alfred; and his in-laws, Laverne, Lucille Hollenkamp, Evelyn, Joe Drayna, Dale Johnson, Margaret Pachan and Beverly Retka.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his children, Robert (Renee), Rose, Cecelia (Rick), James (Joni) and John (Andrea); and his brothers, Alvin (Margaret) and Richard (Barbara). He is also survived by four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one great step-grandchild.
