He is survived by: his children, Mathew Smith, Karen Smith (Ben) and Kerri Smith; his stepdaughters, Leann Reynolds (Dale), Tammy Erickson (Marc) and Melissa Carlson (Rick); his siblings, Michael Smith (Susan), Joan Lisson (Joe), Rozanne Hink (Bill), Linda Nelson (Steve), Lois Smith and Terri Gradine (Tom); his siblings-in-law, Marsha Lundberg, Beverly Willeck (Randy), Barbara Bober (Pete), Tom Melin and John Melin; his grandchildren, Derrick Reynolds, Donovan Smith, Cody Erickson, Devin Reynolds, Nick Erickson, Tyler Selin, Rhiley Smith and Mia McKeon; his great grandchild Elliot Anderson; and also Alexis Jung. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
