He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Hafner and Frances Hafner; his brother Bill Hafner; and his brother-in-law Bob Hammer. He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Michael J. Hafner, Peggy Nasby (Dick), Patrick Hafner (Bea) and Christine Hafner (Sid); his stepchildren, Jeff Kaitchuck (Dee), Dale Kaitchuck and Kari O'Connor (Mike); his sisters, Lu Hammer and Mary Ann Pojar (Don); his sister-in-law Gloria Hafner; and his grandchildren, Kian, Heidi, Justin, Shani, Ken, Simon and Mariah. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

The family encourages memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research in Mike's honor.
