He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Hirt and Joan Hirt. He is survived by: his siblings, Debra Fosness (Lee) and Patrick; his nieces, Heather Freid (Nate), Kristen Fosness (Brad) and Mackenzie Hirt; his nephew Jason Hirt; his great-nieces, Carlee and Lainey Freid; and his girlfriend Marge Amato.
