He is survived by: his mother Diann Marie Smith (Adams) of Oelwein; his sons, Darrin Smith of Oelwein and William Smith of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; and his brother Derek Smith (Ann) of Oelwein. He is also survived by several aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home (221 N Frederick Ave, Oelwein, IA 50662). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (626 S Frederick Ave, Oelwein, IA 50662).
