He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie "Mike" and Elizabeth "Betty" Thompson (Fischer); his brother Rodney "Skippy"; and his granddaughter Kirsty Kilpela. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Koski of Britt; his children, Marshall Thompson (Suzanne) of Corvallis, OR and Andrea Kilpela of Eveleth; and his stepchildren, Jeremy Koski of Atlanta, GA and Amy Madden (Mark) of Mt. Iron. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; one great-grandson; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
