He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Michael and Bernice Stopski (Williams); his stepfather Chappy Plonsky; and his siblings, John, Thomas, Patrick and Eraina Vohnoutka.

He is survived by: his wife Claire Forsberg of Brimson; his children, Kristin Strand (Blair) of Waseca, Jennifer "BJ" Flicek (Gene) of Le Center, Michael J. Stopski, Jr. (Jessica) of Northfield and Kelly Stopski of Owatonna; his grandchildren, Jordan Gillick (Cooper), Elizabeth Lyons (Josh), Alycen Strand (Nate Ghighi), Zoey Litzler (Aurora), Nikki Pink (Niko), Caelin Ham, Brayden Ham, Kailey Flicek, Blake Flicek, Mitchell Stopski and Jacie Stopski; his great grandchildren, Nikko, Dream Gillick and Paisley Lyons; his stepchildren, Jeremy Olson, Matthew Manning, Charlie Olson and John Olson; his sisters, Linda Lambrecht (Robert) of Owatonnna and Crystal Zvanovec (Kevin) of Heidelberg; and his former wife Kathy Stopski of Owatonna.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Bruzek Funeral Home (610 Main St E, New Prague, MN 56071). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location.

He was selfless, donating one of his kidneys to his mother, and being the first to offer his time and energies when a need arose.
