He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph McCarvel and Marie McCarvel (Salentiny). He is survived by: his wife Bev; his son Paul (Angela); his granddaughters, Alexis and Emily; his son Dan (Hillary); his grandson Alex; his daughter Lisa Hanson (Ryan); his grandchildren, Blake and Makenzie; his siblings, Bonnie Nagel, Thomas McCarvel and Ronnie McCarvel (Julie); and his nieces and nephews, Sarah Guilfoyle (Brian), Courtney Nagel, Taylor McCarvel, Logan McCarvel (Tara), Abby McCarvel and Eric Oltmanns (Tricia).

Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (516 10th St, Brewster, MN 56119).
