He is survived by: his wife Nancy Heitkamp; his children, Nicholas Heitkamp and Natalie Medenwald; his grandchildren, Uriah Medenwald, Noah Medenwald, Marcellah Heitkamp-Dahlen, Adyson Heitkamp, Braxton Heitkamp, Kamdyn Heitkamp and Madylan Heitkamp; and his siblings, Corrine Langendorfer (Bruce), Gary Heitkamp (Carolyn), Rick Heitkamp, Lynette Klosterman, Wayne Heitkamp and Dan Heitkamp. He is also survived by many other nephews, nieces.
