He is survived by : his son, Jaramiah Smith of Minot, N.D.; his parents, Raul Portales of Breckenridge, MN and Rebecca Portales of Breckenridge, MN; his brothers, Dylan, Dustin, David, Darron and Dalton; his grandmothers, Adrienne Berg of Breckenridge, MN and Juanita Portales, Crystal City, TX; his Uncle Greg Berg of Hankinson, ND, Aunts Kristine Walden, (Shay Walden) Michelle Luna (Paul Luna), Maria (Jesse) Valderrama, Antonia (Elias) Zambrano, Cristina Portales, Petra Rivera (Noe), Edubina Portales (friend Lori Cisneros) He is also survived by many cousins all who he loved dearly; church families, Wahpeton ND, Dickinson, ND and Moorhead, MN and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer monetary gifts.
