He is survived by: his brother Dick; his sister-in-law Betty Jo Hayes of Brainerd, MN; his children, Terry Backhaus (Brad) of Willmar, MN and Bruce Hayes (Jeri Ward) of Brainerd, MN; his grandchildren, Jessica Norling (Chris) of Brainerd, MN, Jennifer Hoskins (Scott) of Superior, WI, Casey Myers (Chase) of Moorhead, MN and Drue Backhaus (Olivia Crays) of Chicago, IL; and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Griffyn, Remington, Noah and Kiah.
