He was predeceased by: his siblings-in-law, Colin John Powter and Catherine Marie Reed Berg; his parents-in-law, Judien and Henrietta Lorraine Johnson Berg; his son Benjamin; and his niece Alyssa.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Linda Berg Avery; his daughter Laura; his son-in-law Danny Viti; his grandchildren, Alaina and Nathan Viti; his son Jon Lawrence Avery; his sister Susan Marie Avery Powter; his brother-in-law John Henry Berg; and his nieces and nephews, Christine, Julia, James, Alex, Missy, Mikey and Vivian.
