He was predeceased by: his parents, John P. Veit and Ruby M. Veit (Colfield); his former wife Angeline K. Smude; his sister Maxine; and his brother-in-law Bruce Tanhoff.
He is survived by: his children, John Veit (Judy) of Alaska, Anita Straka (Greg) of Brainerd, Tom Veit of Baxter, Brenda Hill (Dale) of Pine River, Luann Holst (Craig) of Fort Ripley and Lori Welch (Rodney) of St. Joseph; and his former wife Janice Cahoon.
