He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Herath (Sandra Herath) and Ida "Bess" Herath (Klett); his brother Donald Herath; and his grandson Paul D. Herath. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Gurley; his children, Cynthia Grimm (Stephen) of Baxter, MN, Christina Funk (Timothy) of Colorado Springs, CO, Catherine Ziegler (James Thoreson) of Salida, CO, John Herath (Sarah) of LaCrosse, WI and David Herath (Kerri) of Brainerd, MN; and his grandchildren, Carly Tweedale (Justin), Claire Grimm, Erin Funk, Michelle Wenger (Michael), John Funk (Cassie), Daniel Funk (Amber), Gretchen Ziegler, Emily Ziegler, John T. Herath, Maggie Herath, Lydia Hatton (Evan), Anna Bruggeman (Landon) and David Herath. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
