He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Berger (Walrack) and George Veit; and his brothers, Gene Veit and Michael Berger. He is survived by: his close friends, Rachel and Amber; his wife Barbara; and his sister Leona Peterson. He is also survived by relatives and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Presbyterian Church or St. Mary's hospice—Itasca Team.
