He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Henry and Anna Skogen (Anderson); his former wife Donna Dray; his great grandchild Danielle Erickson; and his granddaughter-in-law Alyssa Skogen.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Chilson; his children, Judith Aakre (Nelson), Daniel Skogen (Susan) and Debra Firkins (Bruce); his grandchildren, Richard Firkins (Leslie), Teresa Firkins (David), Aaron Skogen (Erica), Rebecca Erickson (Randy) and Nathaniel Skogen (Amber); his great grandchildren, Logan, Lucas, Milo, Scarlet, Trevor, Kyle, Hailey, Andrea, Cassandra, MicKala, Brittany, Dustin, Landan, Rachel, Paul, Gavin and Kadin; his great great grandchildren, Leonardo, Jocelyn, Presley, Phoenix, Coraline, Caleb and Clayton; his half-sisters, Beverly Kubik and Bonnie Dahl; and his stepsisters, Donna Jones and Karen Chilson.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (235 E 7th St, Blue Earth, MN 56013). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
