He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Rex and Josephine Bernard; his brothers, Billy and David Bernard; his sister-in-law Judith Gruber; and his nephews, Brian and Mark Bernard.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita; his sons, Allan of Waverly, IA and Jeffrey (Lisa); his daughter-in-law Sarah (Mark) Benesh; his grandchildren, McKenna Bernard (Max Grones) of Longmont, CO, Megan Cina (Alex), Thomas (Sydney), Bernard of St. Paul, MN, Shannon (Leon), Bryant of Bloomington, MN and Emily Benesh of Iowa City, IA; his great grandchildren, Neveah Bryant, Klaus Cina-Bernard and Henry Bernard; and his brother-in-law Gill Gruber of St. Louis Park, MN. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to The Animal Humane Society in Stan's memory celebrating his love of dogs.
