He is survived by: his former spouses, Lorie Bemis and Lori Sawyer; his wife Laurie Tonsfeldt (Bendel); his children, Rochelle Merkins (Russell) of Hutchinson, Michael Burks (Mandie DeNoble) of Sibley, IA, Joseph Tonsfeldt (Sydney Tyler) of Blomkest and Emily Tonsfeldt of Svea; his grandchildren, Trent, Tyson, Keegan, Madison, Brooklynn, Emma, Jalynne, Cayden, Gavin, MacKennzie, Levi, Justice, Jordan, MyKenzie and Liberty; his siblings, Richard Burks (Arlene) of Lakefield, Ruth Zellar (Jerry) of Wasila, AK, Gary Burks (Lynn) of Fergus Falls and Phillip Burks (Dori) of Hutchinson; and his mother-in-law Evelyn Bendel of Blomkest. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
