Ion Maianu Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ion Maianu of Blomkest, Minnesota, who passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nedelcu Maianu and Voica Maianu (Burtea); his siblings, Alex Maianu and Iosif Maianu (Daniela); and his brother-in-law Bill Nigh.
He is survived by: his wife Rodica Carcoana; his children, Felicia Yague (Richard), Andrei Maianu, Cami Maianu (Kent Gramm), Patti Maianu, Mihai Maianu and Carmen Maianu (Bryan Cook); his granddaughter Malaya Yague; and his siblings, Lidia Maianu, Vivi Wickberg (John), Petre Maianu (Anca) and Marianna Nigh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home (1000 19th Ave SW, Willmar, MN 56201). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
