He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Sportel and Margaret "Grace" Sportel (Bestge); and his brother David Sportel. He is survived by: his wife Annette Kosel; his sons, Ryan Sportel (Amy) of Hayward, WI and Ross Sportel of Renville; his grandchildren, Sullivan and Finley Sportel; his sisters, Carol Reigstad (Roger) of Willmar and Connie Bourne (Melvin) of Bloomington; and his sister-in-law Elaine Sportel of Roseland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends.
