He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene O'Brien and Arlene O'Brien; his brother David O'Brien; and his siblings-in-law, Jane O'Brien and Don Ripp.

He is survived by: his wife Betty O'Brien; his daughter Beth Feldstein (Pete); his grandsons, Dustin Hoffman (Alissa) and Tyler Feldstein; his siblings, Jean Ripp and Denny O'Brien (Diane); and his great grandchildren, Kayla and Avery.
