He was predeceased by: his parents, Falko Beekman and Frances Beekman; his wife Irma; his siblings, Darlene and Daniel; his parents-in-law, Mella Dykstra and Dorothy Dykstra; his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Mae Dykstra, Dick Dykstra and Don Zevenbergen; and his niece Debra Newhouse.

He is survived by: his children, Dianne De Penning (Jim), Dennis Beekman (Christine) and Marvin Beekman (Kathleen); his grandchildren, Darrin Beekman (Grace), Katelyn Niznik (Rob), Rebekah De Penning, Abbie Beekman, Joseph De Penning, Samuel De Penning (Rylie), Katherine Beekman, Andrew Beekman, Matthew Beekman and Daniel Beekman; his great grandchildren, Olivia and William Beekman; his brothers, Merlyn Beekman (Helen) and Eugene Beekman (Anna); and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Zevenbergen, John Dykstra (Alice) and Bill Dykstra (Helene).
