We are sad to announce that on October 30, 2020, at the age of 90, Richard N. Johnson of Blackduck, Minnesota, born in Bemidji, Minnesota passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard N. Johnson to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Johnson and Ruth Johnson; his sister Muriel (Howard Stubfors); his parents-in-law, Melvin "Mike" and Paula Tangen; his sister-in-law Marilyn (Willis Wagner); and his nephew David Tangen.
He is survived by: his son Roderick; his close friends, Clark Dahlgren, John "Bud" Schraeder, Northern Paving and Gravel; his wife Betty Ann; his children, Nancy Gail, Rod Nelson of Bemidji, MN and Margaret Johnson of Newbury Park, CA; his grandchildren, Melissa Perreault (Jeff) of Crookston, MN, Kelley Owens (Greg) of Portland, OR, Jacob Richard Nelson (Nanah) of Los Angeles, CA, Caitlin Johnson of Thousand Oaks, CA and Matthew Johnson (Alyssa) of Athens, GA; his brother James "Jim" Johnson (Sandy) of Pontiac, MI; and his brother-in-law Dennis Tangen (Helen) of Bemidji, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Due to COVID-19 concerns a memorial service honoring the life of Richard "Richie" Johnson will be held at a later date when his loving family will all be able to come together.
Memorials may be given in Richie's name to Crookston Parks and Recreation Department for scholarships or Trinity Lutheran Church and sent to Betty Ann Johnson, 120 Golf Terrace Drive, Crookston, MN 56716.
