He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Baird and Caroline Baird (Belden); his wife Trudy Ann Baird; his stepsons, William Dirkes and Timothy Dirkes; his stepgrandchildren, Katrina Maish and Frank Maish; and his siblings, John Baird, Orlan Baird and Norma Sanders.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Hiemenz (Brad) of Big Falls, MN, Brenda Sursely (Dan) of Big Falls, MN, Terry Baird (Karen) of Big Falls, MN and Barb Baird of Grand Rapids, MN; his stepchildren, Chris Dirkes of Blackduck, MN, Mariea Maish (Dale) of Blackduck, Patricia Bronczyk (Tom) of Kelliher, MN, Michael Dirkes (Karen) of Blackduck, MN and Janell Finlayson (Philip) of Bemidji, MN; and his siblings, Orval Baird, Stanley Baird, Doris Sutton and Leona Hand. He is also survived by 19 step-grandchildren; 43 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (125 1st St NW, Blackduck, MN 56630). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
