It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne M Newton (Biwabik, Minnesota), who passed away on October 14, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Guimont and Jennie Guimont (Anderson); her husband Bob Newton; and her brothers, Warren Guimont and Don Guimont.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Newton (Jean), Sharon Salsman (Ron Stanaway), Rick Newton (Karen Wellander) and Dave Newton; her grandchildren, Joe Velacich (Shelly), Jason Velacich, Scott Engman (Kelly), Joe Newton, Dillon Newton, Addie Swartz (Jared) and Kim Newton (Adam Swinney); her great grandchildren, Jack Velacich, Ethan Engman, Jeremiah Newton, Cameron Engman, Noah Newton, Jace Velacich and Cole Newton; her nephew Gary Guimont (Karen); and her godchildren, Stephanie Donnellan Licari and Brian Gabrio (Jennifer).
