He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Karels and Koyala Karels (Hagge); and his brother Ron Karels. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Don of Bigfork, MN, Wes (LaDonna) of Deer River, MN, Jody of Grand Rapids, MN and Jamie (Lasha) of Grand Rapids, MN; and his siblings, Sandy Jordan of Mankato, MN and Jeff Karels (George) of Bemidji, MN. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
