He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Cheney and Mary Cheney; his siblings, Tom, Jackie and Julie; his nephew Brian; and his siblings-in-law, Sandy and Jim.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Kenow; his sons, Robert and Michael (Angie); his sister Jessie Raustadt (Dale); his daughter-in-law Lynn Herlofsky; and his grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Megan, Emma and Lauren.
