With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Irene Lydia Gades of Benson, Minnesota, born in Cottonwood, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 26, 2024 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Fred John and Gracie Mae Volkmann (Rairdin); her husband William Darold Gades of John's Lutheran Church; her granddaughter Kelly Nicole Gades; her daughter-in-law Bonnie Gades; and her siblings, Alvin Volkmann, Donna Mertz and Dennis Volkman.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Gades of Alexandria, Curtis Gades of Alexandria, Kim Gades of Benson, Kendall Gades of Benson, Rhonda Osterman (Tim) of East Bethel and Stacie Gades of Benson; and her siblings, Gordon Volkmann and Janet Lydell. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
