He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. William Heinzig and Bertha Louise Heinzig (Herman); his son Michael Heinzig; and his siblings-in-law, David Klingensmith and Faye Heinzig.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Heinzig of Benson; his son Jason Heinzig of Benson; his granddaughter Emma Heinzig; his daughter-in-law Stephanie Heinzig of Benson; and his siblings, Elaine Klingensmith of Sioux City, Iowa and William Heinzig of Ankeny, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (700 Nevada Ave, Benson, MN 56215). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Benson City Cemetery (1540 Oregon Ave, Benson, MN 56215).
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson.
