It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerome William Dirkes of Bemidji, Minnesota, born in Bertha, Minnesota, who passed away on May 30, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Dirkes and Betty Dirkes (Kowalazyk); his sons, William and Timothy Dirkes; his grandchildren, Katrina Maish and Frank Maish; his brother Tom Dirkes; and his nephew Martin Dirkes.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Dirkes of Blackduck, MN, Mariea Maish (Dale) of Blackduck, Patricia Bronczyk (Tom) of Kelliher, MN, Michael Dirkes (Karen) of Blackduck, MN and Janell Finlayson (Philip) of Bemidji, MN. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
