With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gene Roger Bakke of Bemidji, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 26, 2024 at the age of 78. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gene Roger Bakke to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bakke and Annie Bakke; his half-sisters, Ruth Synder and Violet Christensen; and his siblings, Myron Bakke, Larry Bakke, John Bakke, Bea Ernst, Annette Hoisve, Carol Boese and Shirley Wood.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Bakke (Schrunk); his children, Eric Bakke and Nicole Cook (Jason); his grandchildren, Kayla and Carter; and his sister Joan Bakke. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
When Gene wasn't working he enjoyed golf, bowling, softball, hunting with his son and buddies, lake time and fishing with his family, and cheering on his grandkids at their sporting events (even through COVID he figured out how to live stream it).
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Sanford Bemidji Hospice or Calvary Lutheran Church.
