He was predeceased by: his father Charles Buckanaga. He is survived by: his mother Carol Buckanaga (White); his children, Giniw Buckanaga, Curtis Buckanaga Jr., Ezashowe Buckanaga, Charli Jane Buckanaga, Oginii Joseph, Miskwaanakwadook Buckanaga and Mawandoo; his siblings, Sam Sargent, Cara Dahl (Bruce), Jane Buckanaga and Nicole Wadena; his grandson Carlos Zamora Jr.; and the mothers of children, Jenny Joesph and Nicole Buckanaga.
A wake was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial Building (16599 69th Ave NW, Cass Lake, MN 56433). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
