He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernhard Hallgren and Esther Hallgren (Mellgren); his son Steve; his brother Dale; his granddaughter Kaia Banios; and his great grandchild Liam Harkins.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his children, Barb Schaefer (Mark), Ann Hallgren, Scott Hallgren (MaryAnn), Jon Hallgren (Brenda), Jenni Chaussee Hallgren (Bob), Brian Hallgren (Anne) and Kalli Matsuhashi; and his daughter-in-law Kim Hallgren. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the West Union Lutheran Church (15820 Market Ave, Cologne, MN 55322).
