He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Koenig and Theresa A. Koenig (Pieper); his former wife Carol Dekart; and his siblings, Joseph Koenig (Marcella), Albert Koenig (Roselyn), Lucille Hayden (John Connolly) and Martha Zweber (Tony).
He is survived by: his wife Theresa; his children, Cynthia Koenig, MaryCarol Wolf (Mark), Michael Koenig, AnnMarie Otto (Danny), Mark Koenig (Sara), Debra Koenig, Emily Koenig Hapka (Andrew) and Julie Koenig; his grandchildren, Nicole, David, Melissa, Josh, Jed, Katie, Kelly, Betsy, Yogi and Sampson; and his siblings, Jane Armon (Terry) and Lawrence Koenig (Ann). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
