He was predeceased by: his parents, Palmer Olson and Olga Olson (Baalson); his daughter Judith Ann Bayer; his great grandchild Zeya Lily Koop; and his brothers, Rudolph and Joseph.

He is survived by: his wife Lucille Anderson; his children, Carol Fadness of Apple Valley and Keith (Ruth) of Madison Lake; his son-in-law Joe Bayer (Elizabeth) of Annandale; his grandchildren, Holly Bayer (Richard Warzecha), Jon Bayer (Zsuzsa), Steve Bayer (Shannon), Tara Koop (Jeremy), Courtney Thornalley (David), Melissa Stearns (Jake) and Philip Olson (Jessi); and his great grandchildren, Joseph, Madeleine, Charlie Seel, Zachary, Lucas, Dylan Bayer, Brayden, Emmitt, Lillian Bayer, Yesenia Pliego Sanchez, Skyler Koop, Ashton Thornalley, Jaelyn, Miah Olson and Stearns. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
