He was predeceased by: his wife Lisa; his daughter Carol; his granddaughter Colleen; and his siblings, Inez Bonk (Bud), Sydney Knight (Dean), Jackie DeShaw (Ed) and Robert Stockstead (Kay).

He is survived by: his children, William, Hans Stockstead and Jane McCarthy (Lynn Teppen); his daughter-in-law Diane Stockstead; his grandchildren, Joel (Stephanie), Jacob Stockstead (Lisa), Elizabeth Tenpas (Harrison), Brandon and Benjamin McCarthy; and his great grandchildren, Joel Jr., Lucas Stockstead, Christoper Zabel and Violet Tenpas.
