He was predeceased by: his parents, Palmer Heglie and Josephine Heglie (Johnson). He is survived by: his wife Sandy; and his daughters, Debbie Heglie, Brenda Larson (Tom), Sarah Bixler (Brock), Brett Larson and Brandon Wetherbee.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Elks Youth Camp or First Lutheran Church in Brainerd.
