He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Kohnen and Hedwig Kohnen (Hemauer); and his siblings, Hubert, Agatha, Margaret, Joan and Mary.
He is survived by: his parent-in-law Daricene LeCour (Kelso); his wife Daricene; his children, James Kohnen, Jr. and Francine Trtanj (Kohnen); and his granddaughters, Emily Macdonald (Trtanj), Hannah Trtanj and Sophia Trtanj.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services - Baxter (7348 Excelsior Rd, Baxter, MN 56425). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
