He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Slotrem and Edith Slotrem; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Putnam, James Sackett, Floyd Zaffke, Mike Jackson, Marcia Zaffke and Patricia Putnam.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Lucas; his daughters, Cheryl Sande (Brett) of Miltona, MN and Bonnie Gardiepy (Jim) of Lake Shore, MN; his grandsons, Garret and Grant Gardiepy; and his siblings, Darlene Hastings (Tim), Barbara Sackett, Duane Slotrem (Sally) and Debra Plowman (Randy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Darrell's memory are preferred to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
