He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl T. Nelson and Elsie Nelson (Soderstrom); his siblings, Carl and Donna Stromberg; and his stepson Ronald Bement.
He is survived by: his former wife Charlene Bement (Char); his wife Char Nelson of Baxter; his children, Vickie Nyberg (William) of Harris, MN, Kevin Nelson of Las Vegas, Cheryl Ertel of Las Vegas, Ricky Nelson of Monroe and Scott Nelson of Tyndall; his stepson Randy Bement (Gail) of Pillager; and his siblings, Donald "Corky" Nelson of North Branch, Janice Gallmeier (Jack), Judy DeBoer (Marvin) of Ogilvie and Marlene Beeuwseart of Milaca. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
